Most guys want to build muscle and carve out a body that makes women’s heads turn. And there’s no shame in wanting more confidence. But, it’s the method you choose to develop this look that can run you into trouble.
The body building approach to muscle build
The problem most guys make is to take the advice of bodybuilders who are training for an entirely different visual look and purpose. Body building is a extremist method of muscle building that requires a very restricted diet and lifting technique designed specifically for competition. The goal in this sport is to develop mass not lean define muscles. If you’re looking to impress a woman this look won’t get you very far because for most it comes across as very unnatural and domineering and therefore is a big turnoff. Studies show that most women prefer you to have the lean, athletic, ‘Hollywood’ look, or the physique of a high-intensity sportsman, such as a ripped cage fighter or pro-footballer over this stocky frame.
So how do you build muscle and go about sculpting the right look to attract women? Justin offers 3 valuable tips to help you stand out as the Alpha Male in whatever social situation you’re in and start noticing the girls gawking at YOU!
Alpha Body Tip #1: Work On Your Posture
Most guys spend too much time on pressing exercises and not enough on pulling. That’s unfortunate because more pull ups and rows would give you a more dominant, confident upright posture, whereas too much bench pressing makes you look like a gorilla.
For the next 4 weeks, try reducing the volume of shoulder and bench presses in your program and instead supplement a higher volume of bent-over rows, chin ups and pull ups. This will pull your shoulders back into position and will actually give you a broader chest.
Alpha Body Tip #2: Build Muscle in The Right Places
Most men fail to strategically build muscle in the right places for visual effect. Women like to see broad shoulders, a strong back and most of all – a proportionate body. This means that you need to start adding as much lower body work as you do upper body work. Most amateur bodybuilders tend to love upper body work and do nothing for their legs – leaving a ‘chicken leg’ appearance, which gives all the wrong signals to women.
If you do currently suffer from the dreaded ‘chicken leg syndrome’ then Justin would suggest that for the next 4 weeks you perform lower body strength training for at least 3 sessions per week and cut the upper body training down to once per week. You’ll be amazed at the difference not only in lower body muscles, but also in the growth of your upper body. Your upper body will actually develop because training the legs produces more growth hormone in your body, and your arms and shoulders will also have some much-needed recovery time so they can hypertrophy.
Alpha Body Tip #3: Get Stronger!
Remember most women like the dense, strong look in a man, rather than a ‘puffy’ but larger appearance. The best way to get your muscles looking like this, with good definition whilst also keeping body fat at a minimum is to use heavy full body exercises such as squats, dead lifts, pull ups and shoulder presses for sets of 5-8 repetitions. Avoid the higher-rep training bodybuilders use, which inflames the muscles and makes them appear less dense.
Use these tips for the next few weeks with consistency and you’ll start building muscle and catching the attention of the women you want to attract.
